2019 Summer Project
In 2019 StyledbyKate07 and I collaborated on our first video project ‘Summer + Autumn Lookbook’. Taking inspiration from other videos of this genre, the video features 4 outfits which we then pick apart through brand referencing and close ups. The video relied on four key roles split into clothing selection & modelling and directing & editing (with myself in charge of the latter half). The role of directing was easy to adjust to given the fact I had previously directed Kate for various photoshoots featured on her blog. But editing a video of this kind was completely different to anything I had ever done before. while I am definitely proud of the final product I do think that the 10 minute length of the video is a little overindulgent, but then again, we were very proud of the individual aesthetics we created in each segment.

The ‘Collusion Lookbook’ I edited and directed for StyledbyKate07, published January 2020, would be the video I am the proudest of, as it feels like the strongest presentation of Kate's brand. From the neon green backdrop behind the video to the retro block style font (named ‘PRESS START 2P’) to me, makes the aesthetic for this video feel very clear. While filming I remember being concerned that the newspaper backdrop may not come out looking as good on video as it did IRL. But when looking at the finished product I really do think the newspapers add a more genuine and possibly DIY touch to the video.
